Ball State Judo Head Coach

Mario Camacho
Sensei Mario is a Sandan (3rd degree black belt). He has been envolved with judo since stepping on the mat his Senior year at Ball State University in 1991. At that time Ball State Judo was a physical education class and he also participated in Judo club. When leaving Ball State he earned the rank of yellow belt and continued his judo journey. This lead him to earning his current rank and becoming a USA Judo certified International Gold Level Coach. He is currently the Indiana Judo President and head Sensei for Hokushin Judo, Fishers YMCA Judo and the Ball State Judo Club since 2017.
In 2019 and 2024 Sensei Mario was awarded Indiana Coach of the Year by Indiana Judo.

Ball State Judo Assistant Coaches

Indigo Koslicki
Dr. Indigo Koslicki is a Sandan (3rd degree black belt). She is an associate professor of criminal justice and criminology and came to Ball State in 2018 after earning her PhD at Washington State University (WSU). While at WSU, she was coach of the WSU Judo Club, and she has trained and competed since starting her judo journey in Bow, Washington in 2001. She is currently the faculty advisor and assistant coach of Judo at Ball State, as well as assistant coach of the Ross Community Center Judo Academy.

J.C. Camacho
J.C. is a Nidan (2nd degree black belt) and graduated from Ball State University. She has been an assistant coach with the Ball State Judo Club for the past 8 years. In 2022 she earned her Regional Coaches certification from USA Judo. Her 17 years of experience helps other students with the traditional and competitive side of Judo. J.C. has had the opportunity to compete all around the country and internationally. She has placed and won several National Championship titles earning the honor to compete for the US at the 2017 Cadet World Judo Championships in Santiago de Chile, Chile - 40kg and 2017 IJF World Judo Championships in Zagreb, Croatia - 44kg. Includng this honor she has also earned Player of the Year for USA Judo in 2014, 2015 and 2017. This has also given her the chance to train with USA Judo Olympians at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado and San Jose State University. She won several tournaments competing for the Ball State Judo club and was awarded the Indiana 2019 Senior Female Player of the Year Award by Indiana Judo.
